keps going & going & going

well we wish the batterys did like in the adverts.but they don't so the toy rabbit falls of the cliff for me.
..my nice shiny finepix S9600 luvs batteries mmmm tasty, i put a micro drive in it and it ate a set of 4AA x 2800 batteries in no time as it has to be running all the time, so that got sold in favour of big 2 gig XD chips which have plummeted in price (even on Amazon) that solved battery staying power.
As said before on other reviews a bit pricy but does not null & void warrenty.
As for use well i just strap a long extension lead on to a bag and put the power unit in it for extended mobility even gets out into my garden, and can power my flash at the same time (the 9600 can use a remote flash gun).
So worth every penny as it will last years and longer than those cheap multi adapters do.
I can click away for hours....

Pretty decent

Good battery. I use it for a nikon coolpix 4300. For simply taking photos the battery will last a long time, however using the screen to playback photos/movies a lot, drains the batteries, especially when zooming in when reviewing pictures. Having said that it was good enough for two days solid use.

Its better that the other cases because this case fits the Z100FD perfectly and has all the holes cut out the side for your strap.

Dont buy this for a Fuji S9500

This is a well made little case but the description of it being suitable for all Finepix cameras except the S1 is not true. My S9500 will fit into it but the bag then looks like a football with corners! It cant be offering the camera any protection whatsoever against knocks. I havent tried it, but I doubt that it would be suitable for my 6900 either. Back to square one and a visit to a camera shop with camera!

S100FS

Just upgraded to this camera from the S9500 -
A brilliant camera - 11.1MP with a 400mm zoom and a 67mm lens diameter.
You can adjust so many settings - The colour - tone - sharpness of the outlines - and finetune the white balance. You can even customise your own settings for quick accsess.
The dynamic range is good - it really brings contrasting areas into a good exposure.....Also with a fast SD card you can shoot mulitple images quickly that save to the card very fast......Its fully manual and fully automatic - You can even lock pictures on the sd card and then just delete everything else in one go.
Theres a real lack of noise on the camera - even at 400 asa - and 800's pretty good.
I think i'll be able to print at A3 - and for A4 the quality will be brilliant.
The included software also has a Raw file converter - which has been improved so you can change all the settings before converting it to a Tif or JPG.
So looking forwards to bringing this camera on holiday.
The fixed lens lets you photograph from a 1cm macro to 28mm wide angle up to a 400mm zoom - For what you can do with this camera its definately 5 Star

A quality product but little room for extras

This is a beautifully made product specifically for the S100FS. It has a black soft-textured real leather outer sporting a very discreet"FINEPIX" brushed-aluminium-effect badge. It has a leather/fabric carry-handle and full-length fabric strap with leather/fabric padded shoulder piece. The lining is a well-padded synthetic material with"Fujifilm" repeated diagonally across the whole interior. There is also an elasticated net that can hold (in mine) a large puffer brush, a loose cleaning cloth a spare battery - and not much more.

The camera fitted with a Hama handgrip is a very snug fit but, aside from the UV filter fitted to the camera lense, there is insufficient room to carry another filter. Dimensions of the case with the camera and above items in situ are approx. 190mm(W)x170mm(H)x120mm(D). The weight is negligible. For a camera of the S100FS's size, I consider the size as very compact. For me, this is a blessing and I find it very comfortable when carried for long periods. I have previously owned both a large and very heavy gadget bag for my previous SLRs', lenses, flash, filters etc., and a more modern fabric SLR (and not much else) carry bag and find the Fujifi case the most comfortable yet for country walks etc.

Should it be mentioned that it has attracted more than a few comments relating to its similarity to a designer handbag?

In summary then, a product which is uitable for those who do not intend to carry extras such as a flash gun and filters, but for those who do, I suggest something larger. Just bear in mind the trade-off with weight and ask yourself if you really want to carry all of the accessories, as they can soon become very heavy and uncomfortable.

Should have come with the camera!

First of all, I think this item does the job OK. All these electronic toys demand a mains adapter these days and this one should have come free with the camera kit. Also, unlike the Fuji FP6800, you can't charge the batteries whilst they are in the camera with this adapter. A purely functional item and no complaints with its performance.
